Dionaea ‘Big Mouth’ produces decumbent foliage throughout the growing season, and starts to develop leaves early in spring.

The traps are up to 4-5cm long, and are borne on proportionately very short leaf bases. Usually the leaf bases are approximately the same length as the traps, which is in contrast to typical Dionaea in which the leaf bases are usually approximately twice as long as the traps.
