New Zealand Long Fiber Sphagnum Moss is a great ingredient in carnivorous plant media or as a growing media itself. Dionaea, Heliamphora, Drosera, Darlingtonia, Sarracenia and Pinguicula can all be cultivated in Sphagnum moss.
Break the Sphagnum apart and add to water to re-hydrate the moss. Sphagnum can hold up to twenty times it’s weight in water. Never plant your plants in dry Sphagnum moss.
We recommend rinsing your Sphagnum moss with rainwater through a sieve. This helps remove any dust and contaminants and lowers the dissolved solids in your media.
